About

Sparking Conversations, Igniting Action is a joint initiative of Clarence, Glenorchy, Hobart, and Kingborough Councils. It is a community bushfire resilience project working with small community groups in 12 neighbourhoods across Greater Hobart helping people become more aware of the bushfire risks in their area and to learn how to prepare for these risks.

We want people across the four municipalities to join the conversation and be part of a movement that ignites action for change. We want individuals to spark up conversations with friends, family and neighbours that will help ensure we are all safer and better prepared for the threat of bushfire in our region.

The results of this pilot project will inform councils and other government agencies about what they can do to help people and communities overcome the obstacles that prevent them from preparing for bushfire.
